I remember the first time I saw Fola in a pre season friendly, it’s the only time I’ve ever seen a player beat a man not through pace or skill, but simply by having a longer stride than him.
Didn’t Luggy take one look at him in the first training session he took after taking over and just say ‘not for me’?
No imagination that man, with his insistence that footballers need to be good at football
I think the rumour was Luggy asked him, 'how tall are you?' '6 foot 6' 'So why can you only jump 5 foot 5?'

Power has been good at spending money to get players when they are available thus far i know but i really hope we do what is necessary to get a couple of top class permanent players in. I'd hoped we would use some of that Luongo/Gladwin money to really increase the playing assets the club has. Early days i know but i hope its not just loans and trialists. We have to invest to get the next Luongo/Foderingham etc.

Have we got to sell Byrne seeing as his contract is up in 12 months?
If he can't be persuaded to extend his contract he'll be off for nowt a la Wes and can't see Power wanting that.
Looks like we've brought in cover for his position so must be expecting him to go.
Maybe selling him will free up some money to actually buy someone instead of continually looking in the bargain bucket for players.

Asides from the fact that Power has bought players, and has said he'll do so again if the right one comes along, I'm quite happy with us looking in the 'bargain bucket' as we seem to be rather good at it. It doesn't matter whether we pay 0 or 1 mil, if they're good then they're good.
