Will you tell me how we can continue to operate, without a multi millionaire funding the club, unless we reduce our budget? The only way we can do that and generate additional funds is to sell players that other teams want to buy.
This is nothing at all like the Greer situation.

Making profit on players is worthless if the team, results and thus income suffer.

If we get 350k for Flint great. If the team becomes worse, we lose more games, attendances drop and we sack our manager then we'd have eaten into a chunk of that 350k. Maybe panic buy a defender in January plus then relegation and rebuilding the club/team again (worse case scenario) and all of a sudden that profit is gone and we'd have been better off with Flint, 350k less, better results, better attendances, better finishing position.

Lots of ifs and buts but just because we make a profit on a player doesn't mean the long term ramifications wont cost us more.

We sold Greer for 250k. Relegation and rebuilding cost us loads more. We sold Fallon in January for 250k and our relegation cost us more than that thus wiping out the profit.

I love how everything is so simple in your little bubble. It's quite cute.

You and your bloody Fallon theory.

He was out of contract in a matter of months and we were going down with or without him. We were hardly flying with his goals were we?

Is our team really going to go from 6th to 24th because we no longer have Flint? That's a little bit simplistic in my opinion

This is how we've become a sort of Div 3 Div 4 yo yo club in the 21st century....we spend a bit to get out of Div3 upwardly fall short need to retrench and get relegated. We then spend again to go back up and the cycle repeats.

KMac needs to have the nous to break this cycle, by developing a young cheap side that can survive in Div 3 for a couple of seasons.

and if creditors take us to court over unpaid bills? "Sorry British Gas, can't pay you as we're not prepared to sell any of our players. Sure you understand."

I agree with this. It's the football club equivalent of 'no nice holidays til the credit cards are paid off'.

£350k for Flint looks like good business. Not sure it's a great career move for him.

It's everyone else's view that's so simple. Sell a player for 350k equals 350k profit

Would have been worth the gamble.

It's not just Flint we've lost and play offs to relegation wouldn't be a first for us would it?

Flint has a sell on clause right?

And is there VAT on football transfers?

How is it a 350k profit when we paid over 100k for him?

Plus the sell on Tans, even less profit!

If a player wants out there is no point in doing much more than getting what you can.

Why is it so difficult to comprehend the fact that we cannot afford to keep all of our players?
