He's not a pretty site but he'd do a job at L1 level.

I am stealing this quote as it is a perfect euphemism for my banging ability.

For this league, yes it is pretty big, one of the biggest I am certain.

The only team that could get close to that budget is probably Bournemouth and their backers have gone cold on them a little of late after the dressing room debacle. Possibly Preston and MKD as well but thats more playing budget and not transfer budget.

Coventry, Doncaster, Pompey and Sheff Utd all have financial problems so won't have a budget like ours, until their new respective backers are in place anyway witht he exception of Sheff utd who are in trouble after overspending last season in their failed attempt to get promotion last season.

Agent Darren a few weeks ago tweeted that Portsmouth have a bigger wage budget than ours, despite being in Admin.

I think agent Darren is talking out of his arse TBF, how can a side that have a squad of 16 players all of whom are on the transfer list and from a team who are in administration with no certainty of their future be able to set a budget of over £4 million?

I thought that any budget for next season would be in the hands of the administrators and their job is to get it as low as possible until a buyer can take over the debts and set their own budget?

And our budget has only just been announced so how did he know what our budget would be a few weeks ago?

I have read somewhere that Ben Haim has a contract with Portsmouth which is around £50k per week.
If that is true it wouldn't take them having many more players under contract to hit £4m.

So Ben Haim is costing them 2.2 million a year alone!

If you look at some of the players they have surely they are spending more than 4 million per year on wages at the moment.  Don't think budget comes into it, surely they won't have a budget yet

Exactly.

Just because they are currently spending more than £4 million on wages does not mean that is their budget for the season.

Dave Kitson and Liam Lawrence are on £20,000 a week according to what i've read. They were signed up almost immediately after they came out of admin the last time.

So those 3 players basically make up 4 million a year on their own.

Alan Navarro.

He's signing for someone and I think it's us. For no reason other than he fits the experience / league winner comments that PDC has been making.

Navarro would be a good signing filling in that defensive midfield slot, a good player at league 1 but out of his depth at Championship level.

A lot of Brighton fans really liked him and he always gave 100%, thats the sort of player we need.

A hear rumours that Creepy are also after him.
