A work colleague who is a saints fan said we should try and sign barnard a couple of weeks back.  Apparently he is 5th in the pecking order now at southampton.  They would have to pay most of his wages though....but then leaving him to rot in the reserves hardly helps southampton either.  I am not sure he would get a start though as bensons been immense of late and don't think going with two lanky strikers ever really works.  Good cover though for benson.......

I thought Barnard was small?

Signing Barnard would be a fantastic coup. Would he drop to League 2? Doubt it.

It would appear the court case for his assault incident is this month and he is expected to go down, so I won't hold my breath on it being him

Would Paolo take on a player with that sort of history?

Barnard has always done the business at L1 but not against us. All I remember is he came on once against for Southend and decided all he wanted to do was try and start a fight with Miguel Comminges (what ever happened to him?) And when they squared up Barnard backed off.

Dont reckon it's him, but if the opportunity of an L2 championship medal was on offer i reckon most would.

It will be close, you have to have played in 1/4 of the seasons games to get a medal I understand, so either 10 or 11 I think is the target and we only have 14 games left including tomorrow.

For some reason I really really wish it was Mike Grella!!  Hmmm

I know that makes little sense and he probably wouldn't come here anyway, but I did like that lad when he played for us... Shame Paul Hart pissed him off so much he decided to leave early.
