Lancashire has surely got to be the most over-represented county when it comes to League clubs.

Burnley
Preston
Blackpool
Accrington
Morecambe
Fleetwood
Bury
Oldham
Rochdale
Man United
Man City
Bolton

A few of those are now Greater Manchester or unitary authorities etc., but they all used to be a part of the county of Lancashire, I think.  Reg will correct me if I'm wrong.

And Wigan.

Edit:  You beat me to it.  Great minds.  How could I ever forget the Premier League's proudest, deserve-to-be-there-and-haven't-bought-their-League-place-at-all club?

I also hear from my Cardiff supporting mate that Steven Gerrards brother Anthony Gerrard is up for transfer too, a solid centre back who played really well against us for Walsall a couple of years ago, he would be a good signing too IMO.

Fleetwood are definately going to be a high profle side this season ahead after selling Vardy they are investing a lot in new signings such as Healy from Rangers (probable) and Johnson and they have made an offer to Jon Shaw who scored 35 goals last season for Gateshead.

Might be worth a punt for back to back promotions.

I wouldn't like to be Rovers or Oxford next season. There'll be under pressure from their fans to be in the promotion mix, but the likes of Fleetwood and Rotherham are better bets for promotion. I'm glad we're out of that league.

Blackburn?

You're right.  That's 14 clubs out of the 92 (or 91, if you leave out Franchise).

I wouldn't like to be Brizzle or Oxford ANY season - but I get your drift.

At least Brizzle are looking to invest, whereas Oxford seem to be worse off than last season. Fucking shame, that!

Fleetwood Town 2004/05:

Winners of the North West Counties Division One with an average attendance of just 207. That is two levels lower than where Chippenham Town were that season (Chippenham had an average attendance of 628).

Just another Rushden and Crawley et al, I'm waiting for Sean O'Hanlon to join them and declare that they're a big club Smiley

So what is it about these small non-league clubs that attracts someone with cash? They'll never get it back.

I honestly don't understand it.

Neither could Pete Winkelman.
