People that bothered about Holmes?
I wasn't that impressed with Holmes, he couldn't shoot, his crossing was iffy, he struggled to beat a number of league two full backs. Rooney contributed far more in assists and goals than Holmes. Ritchie is miles better and lets wind back a couple of years Ritchie couldn't get in our team ahead of Ward when we got to the playoffs (Yes Ritchie has got better).
Some of our best players have been young players we've bought off of bigger teams, and i think there are better players out there to get. Bodin may even develop to be a left winger rather than a striker.
I'd be keener to get mceveley in than holmes

I liked holmes and preferred him to Rooney as well. Seemed to be much better with his opposite foot. Also quite like Rooney, both the sort of players that can turn games. Ritchie and Rooney, nothing to complain about in that. Much preferred his wages to be spent on a good striker. He was on quite a bit by all accounts.

Keep wondering if we're going to try for Bostock on a season loan

I'd like us to go and get bostock on loan for a year. He looked dangerous just off the front man i thought. PDC has stated for more play threw the middle this year

He certainly looked very good in the couple of games he played, and I think playing under PDC could really get the best out of him.

I'm not at all concerned by potentially missing out on Williams. Holmes is a decent player but I won't be losing too much sleep about him either..

If we don't get Bostock I reckon an attacking central midfielder will be very high on PDC's wish list. Been a while since we had someone to play that position, think the last was Ward who played it a couple of times (and looked pretty good at it).

Wonder if Man City will be willing to let Henshall come back to us on loan?
He would be an asset in L1 with his pace.

I think Henshall is gettng to the age where he needs first teams football. He'll be old enough to buy fags soon.

Will probably be out on loan to a FL club next season, so I see no reason why they wouldnt send him back here. Was the best player on the pitch in the under 18's game at the CG earlier in the season too.

Preston's bull in a china shop approach to the transfer market could go either way, hopefully (as we're in their division) it will be akin to Bristol Rovers' approach last summer.
Also, Graham Westley seems bonkers.

Wouldnt suprise me if they are challenging, Westley has started a total squad re-build with a decent budget. Might well go the way of Charlton from this season who took a similar approach.
