We only have 4 fit strikers if you don't count De Vita as he's used as a winger now. Magera isn't yet fit? Kerrouche is doing well and Connell isn't so it's a good move I think until Magera proves his fitness. FWIW I think Magera will be quite prolific when fit and given a run. Storey will be used as a bench warmer/impact player I think this year.

I don't agree with the "Connell isn't doing well" view.  He's scored 3 this season despite not starting many games and some short appearances as a sub.  When I've seen him he's always caused defenders problems and shown a great attitude.

Di Canio is building a squad like i do on FM... far too many strikers and loads of new signings who won't actually ever play.

I was thinking that as I was playing FM yesterday, overloaded with attacking options and wingers/AM's and fuck all cover at the back Cheesy

Connell hasn't exactly set the world on fire though, 3 goals in 11 appearances isn't great especially considering 2 of those goals game in the same game from the bench, so the short appearances as a sub doesn't wash with me as he's scored more from the bench than when starting.

Although I don't think he's a bad player he's not firing them in at the moment and seems a little lightweight so I don't see why we should try another alongside Kerrouche.

Which I'm sure will be the case once Magera is match fit.

Comparing our striking options this season with last makes me feel happy.

Looks like Steve Lomas' move to us is on off - he's due to be announced as St Johnstone manager in the morning.

And former Town trialist Nile Ranger looks like he's hell bent on getting some free accommodation at Her Majesty's pleasure. Allegedly.

And not for the first time.

Up before magistrates 3 times this month alone:

The 20-year-old forward will face magistrates twice in two days - and three times this month - following arrests for violence, drink-driving and being drunk and disorderly.

Southampton released him from his contract before he signed on trial with us a few years back after he assaulted someone and had a few months at Her Majestys pleasure.

And also got time in a YOI while at Saints.

Nile Ranger originally with Southampton, was released as a player with a bad reputation, even spending 11 weeks in a Young Offender's Institute for his part in a robbery.
