I heard the lad plays in portugal
Couldnt be this guy could it played for Uniao Leiria - sounds a bit to good ? ''Despite rumours linking the player with Chelsea and Sporting Lisbon, it was Japanese J-League side Kashima Antlers who came in for Carlao and signed him in December 2010 for an undisclosed fee ahead of next season. In similar fashion to Porto's Hulk , Carlao opted for a move to Japan in order to make a name for himself abroad and open possibilities for a move to a top European league in the future. Japanese giants Kashima Antlers are known to have a remarkable Brazilian tradition. Legendary Brazil international Zico spent two years at the club during the twilight of his career between 1992-1994. And Carlao is set to replace 34-year-old compatriot Marquinhos, who was released at the end of last season after scoring 59 goals in his three years with the club. The 1.90m-tall striker is speedy, robust, technical and has proved to possess a very good eye for scoring goals. After repeatedly showcasing his deft touch in Portugal, Carlao should have no problems chipping in with goals in the Japanese competition and is tipped to become one of the league's most dominant players next season'' From http://www.imscouting.com/global-news-article/Former-Uniao-Leiria-top-striker-Carlao-set-to-impress-in-Japan-video/12889/

What about Maicon Pereira de Oliveira, plays in the Ukraine. Pure fucking guess work but he fits the bill.
I assuming our man must have a 2nd European nationality as there is no hope of us signing a Brazilian with the necessary credentials to get a work permit based on his standing in the Brazilian game. Chances are it will be Portuguese but it should narrow the field down a bit.
On a stat related note who was the last player we signed that required a work permit?

Migz has Italian grandparents so wasn't him, not sure about Invincible though. Most Aussies can find a link to European families so don't know whether it would be him either.

Invincibile had Italian heritage of some sort so that probably qualified him

I have been playing (well hobbling) at a parents 5-a-side tournament this morning at primary school. 2 separate Leeds fans have come up to me to say they are re-signing Lucas.
Can't see it being true myself.

Surely Paul Rachubka will be their second choice to whoever replaces Kasper Schmeichel... If he leaves.

One week till most of the squad should be together, hopefully some interesting signings this week. PDC keeps talking about 5 more, this Comazzi, 2 forwards, a central midfielder even if douglas stays and i assume a left back. Dont we need some more wide players to cover ritchie and caddis?
See ex bristol full back matt hill is available having been released by barnsley, only 30, could surely do a good job for us
