We are one of three clubs looking at De Havilland on loan from Posh…

Hasn’t had much of an opportunity there since his move from Barnet in June, just the one EFL Cup game against Pompey. Managed 7 goals and an assist in the National League last season, so on paper, would add some decent depth. However, hope it’s not a Khan replacement if he is to leave.

Not expecting too much at #stfc could be a quieter day unless things change. More likely a 1 in 1 out sort of day by the looks of it. It's a fast moving market though 🤷‍♂️

Flynn's 4 was probably a tad ambitious and hopeful, but stranger things have happened...

Our pal Ryan Whelan says not to expect much.

Is it just permanent transfers that shut today, or can loans still happen? What about Freebies?

The rules seem to change every year.

Yes, no more loans after 11pm and no signings of players currently under contract at a club.

The club can carry on and sign players out of contract right up until 22nd March IIRC.

But only if they had their contracts terminated before 11pm today, if they are given free transfers from tomorrow onwards then they cannot sign for any club until January 1st when the window opens again.

Be proper gutted if Khan leaves. The way he plays, carries the ball, creates space for himself is key to how we play. Would need a very capable replacement ready to go immediately if he does go.

Plymouth Argyle and Cardiff City are known suitors of Khan and both have scouted Khan in the last 6 months.

Hopefully we can keep Khan as I think he could be pivotal this season, the season he steps up after an average 1st season in league football last year, he so far, seems to have learnt to control his indiscipline issues he suffered from last season.

Once we are through this window you’d like to think we’d start addressing our squad contract situation, which looks extremely grim for the end of the season.

That's fair, the list of players we have announced that have signed up beyond this summer is UGM, Wakeling, Cain, Dworzak and er... Aguiar still. There are a few unknown contract lengths (Ward, Genesini, Kinsella) too.

It's all rather damned if you do and damned if you don't.

In the past everyone has moaned about the 1 year contracts, then last summer they signed a fair few on longer contracts who turned out to not be very good so everyone moaned about that! Plus what do you do if we get promoted, a fair few who are doing well at the moment may not be up to L1 so do you extend or not extend.
