Some people's expectations of a league 2 loanee puzzle me sometimes. Spoiled by Doyle I suppose.

I find it baffling how so many people hate Davison yet adore Simpson.

For me, both were about the same. Davison before he was burnt out could at least challenge for the ball in the air. His first touch was also better than Simpsons. Obviously he lacked that explosive power and ability to score from nothing that Simpson had.

I'm very 'meh' on the pair of them.

I don't hate Davison.

I think he missed good chances at very important times. Also can't trap a bag of cement.  Can see with age he may gain consistency.

If only you could add Davisons mobility and workrate to Simpson's power

Thought Davison was fine. Still young so would expect improvement. Reminds me a bit of Michael Smith during his time at Swindon. I remember a lot of fans writing him off too.

I always thought Davison worked hard, got some good goals but never looked electric. Unfortunate to be a negative talking point due to the play off games.
Oh, and he got the shitty end of the stick every game from the officials.

I don't hate Davison I just think he has awful control and needs 6 chances to score 1 goal, Simpson was more like 3 chances to score 1 goal.

Also I think Simpson is all round a better player and being 2 and a half years younger than Davison makes him a far better prospect and will improve whereas I am not sure Davison will get any better.

Davison is better in the air and has a slightly better work rate but is also drawn in to niggly challenges far easier earning double the amount of yellow cards that Simpson did in the same number of games.

If there was a 1 on 1 with the keeper I would put my money on Simpson scoring, I would put my money on Davison not scoring.

With the ball on the floor Simpson is a much better player, Davison could barely control the ball most of the time and took 3 touches to get it under control.

That is my thoughts on this anyway I am sure not many will agree but thats how I personally saw it.

With Davison and Hudlin together at Wimbledon its pretty obvious which style of football they will be playing this season.....hooooooofffffffffffffffff.

I loved Michael Smith when he was with us. Gone on to have a good career in the Championship/L1
