Today is the last day Hunt, Odimayo and Payne are contracted to us

I have no idea what difference that makes but it does appear all 3 will be gone.

Hunt I'm not bothered about. He's a 6/10 every week but I imagine he's on a fair wedge.

Odimayo I'd like to keep. Good either side of a back 3, can fill in at fullback and would be cheaper than Hunt.

Payne goes without saying. Surely we can afford one player who's paid a little bit too much?

But if you have a wage structure, can you break it for one player?

Problem is if word gets out. Like Mooney when he found out about Parkin!

Let's just give Payne his money and don't tell anybody.

If somebody asks, he's on 2k a week!

In all seriousness, just read on Twitter that Crawley are in for *OUR* Jack Payne. After seeing them sign Telford I'm inclined to believe it. Charlton also in for him.

Both will offer more cash than us and probably a longer contract too.

It doesn't look good!

James dear boy. Bang average, bog standard, doesn’t matter. The training, tactics and man management does.

Brilliant as long as we have that in place.

“It is true Crawley Town have made a significant offer to Jack Payne. Alongside an improved offer from Swindon.

It is expected that both are to be turned down in favour of a League one move. Talks (no offer yet) have been confirmed between Charlton and Other league one clubs. Numerous big clubs have expressed an interest and held conversations with his agent. It is expected Jack will be playing in League one next year. Despite the attempts by Crawley and Swindon.

If Payne goes to League One then absolutely fair enough. If he goes to Crawley I'll be cross.

Has it actually been announced that Parsons has signed? Assumed it wasn't a question of if but I hadn't seen anything.

Payne would stay if we pay up.

You don’t get the chance to have players like Payne at this level. Forget the sustainability and data bull shit from salesman Sandro- we be saving and making  enough as it is this season- if there isn’t room to keep star players then god help us.

Have we ever been able to keep a star player, especially one whose contract is coming to an end? Evidence clearly indicates that we can’t compete with Charlton this close season so anyone getting angry if Payne heads to the Valley has got to reassess their expectations about the club.
