Did you see his celebration? Lifted up his QPR shirt to reveal a Swindon one underneath.
Really?

He’s just scored for QPR.

QPR have come out and said they aren’t renewing their managers contract at the end of the season.
Probably only starting Austin to trigger the extension to lumber QPR with his wages for another year out of spite…
…or maybe Austin is happy to play now he knows the manager is going
…or I could have just made all that up.

Bastard! I watched the whole of that second half, even after he went off, in the hope of seeing a replay! 😂😂😂

A quick peek at the highlights and a quick trawl through their forum revealed a not so elaborate hoax.

Glad I just watched the highlights - Thought QPRs keeper was awesome at times and desperately bad at others. Austin looked to be the only one who had opportunities in the first half. In the second (that I watched live) he spent the whole time defending in his own half.

Wouldn't fit our 'style' nor our budget. Much like Simon Cox, lets remember that magical time when they were banging in goals for us and find 'the next' rather that going back for a 'Pork Pie Pele'.

Austin and Pork Pie should not be in the same sentence, absurd comparison.

No its not - You just aren't reading it right.

Pitman was referred to as a Pork Pie Pele. He was a hell of a player in the past, however, when he came back to us, he was a shadow of his former self.

The point was, we shouldn't look to bring back people who were superstars with us 10 years ago and expect them to be the same. If they come back and are a shadow of their former selves, then they tarnish the fond memories we have. We are better off looking for the next shining star!

Austin as per current would rip L1 or L2 apart.

I think the logic is Austin has always been a finisher. His strengths were being in the right place at the right time and losing his man.

He never relied on physical attributes which may diminish over time like pace, stamina, strength.
In our system he probably wouldn’t be able to do the pressing required so would needs legs around him

Up top central on his own with Barry and McKirdy the main support in the same way we play Davison, I think he'd be scoring almost every week.

Concur completely.
Even as a front two with Davison as the workhorse I think he’d get a decent return.

Can we put him on the bench and pass him off as JML?
