If Egbo in, nobody out bar maybe a loan or two is the extent of today's activity, then it'll be a welcome return to dull deadline days after last year's rolling fiasco.

He was training with them weeks ago. Interestingly though, that would leave a loan gap, so Garners suggestion of only one today seems a little off. Personally i would rather we signed a LWB not a RWB. I have far more faith in Hunt than Iandolo, despite a couple of decent crosses at Colchester. Ultimately Odimayo can cover (if not that well) the RWB slot, we have nobody that can cover the LWB one at all really. Payne kinda played there once, but that feels like square peg in a round hole. |

In a squad limited by funds and head count, we have six midfielders for three spots already. Reed, Lyden, Gladwin, Williams, Payne and East. Additional bodies in that areas seems crazy when our 4th choice forward is Parsons, and we have no wingback cover. I don't disagree with you, but i think Reed and Lyden are physical enough. Rare to see too many players as physical as Grant was. Ultimately we need them to be able pass the ball more importantly, and generally if they are physically imposing and good technically, they are not in league 2. |

True but this is also our level that we are operating in and the same for most clubs. The recent disruption to our squad hasn’t helped either, however this season was all about us having a free hit as we are way exceeding the expectations. |
