There is absolutely no way on earth he is on close to £5k a week. Half it and it’ll be closer to the truth.

£5k was what was reported last season. He was our top earner, with Pitman & Grant next on £3.5k.

The report listed the top 10 earners, and was based on figures from the EFL

Power knew full well the game was up for him at the end of last season with Standing making it known about their ‘arrangement’.

There’s no way he would sanction £5k pw when that money could be put to better use keeping his pockets lined.

Can’t understand slagging him off. He’ll be a stand out in L2.

I hope he is, but i doubt it. What do you consider stand out and we can revisit this later on. Stand out for a midfielder would be 15 or more assists/goals?

That would seem fair enough.

15+ goals and assists combined, for a midfielder, is very solid imo.

Well he managed a combined 10 in L1 last season (4 goals and 6 assists) which in a relegation season isn't that bad.

I think he could probably improve upon that in L2. Possibly 6 goals and 8 assists. No real reason to doubt that. Especially if playing with both Grant & Gladwin too.

I think what hampers Payne is his weak delivery and shot, his control and dribbing is at times excellent, he is a bit too lightweight too.

He also needs to find his best position, under Wellens he tried him wide left, wide right and attacking midfield, under Sheridan he tried him at left back, centre midfield, defensive midfield etc etc, that wasn't Jacks fault that was Sheridactyls fault.

He obviously is pretty talented but if Garner can find his best position he will be a star in L2.

Not sure what his assist rate was last season but I doubt he assisted much more than 5 or 6 times to add to his 4 goals (from 64 shots) he bagged. He finished less than half the games he started too so his fitness was a bit lacking, or Wellens/Sheridactly didn't think he could last the full 90.

I am happy he is staying as we need some experience this season with so many young players being linked, I think he will do well for us.

Yeah, my bad, wasn't sure if you meant 15 of either. Think a lot might depend on the wingers and number 9 he has available to him

Got some stellar comments on their forum

‘Kaine Kesler; a swashbuckling full back with incredible energy and great ability who you can expect to see spend most of his time in the Albion half. Confident, combative and quick, he'll Captain us on the night.’

Interesting for a 19 year old.

I guess that could mean Hunt will move to left back if he does come.

Looks a bit like a young Tyrone Mings.

Noticeable that with him and McCreachan they’re both PL loans. Don’t know if many get to slum it in L2.

I reckon that'll be the super-coach factor.
