Bags of pennies and barge pole not touching with come to mind. Although maybe he's matured... going by his tweets maybe not. However, a short term deal to EOS might work. Vigouroux would be better than what we have currently... ughh

Our 2 ‘keepers’ futures will be sorted after the game tomorrow. Sheridan expecting 10 deals in and out over the window.

Sounds like he intends having a good shake up, and we all thought he'd keep his head down, could this be the turning point.

Yes, hate to be a pessimist but could the statement from Aud be then followed up with a month of... "Well we thought we had such and such" "we were close on a PL player but they went elsewhere..." "we're 95% sure of one or two deals" "at the end of the day we have to be realistic of our targets" "signing players is very much like making love to a beautiful woman...you've got to butter them up a little to convince them to sign.. It's not easy" "5 we're lined up and set to sign but the firing squad turned up and picked them all off" I hope I'm wrong but I doubt we'll be paying any cash for players. More like cash for loans. A lot of swappery pokery coupled with Powers final bridge, in Jewell tickling a few for some favours. Maybe somehow convince someone like Vaughan over from Tranmere. I don't even fucking know anymore

OOC I see, so I can't see him leaving on a free in January then. either someone will buy him, or he'll let his contact expire and see what turns up in the summer

Perhaps he's asked to have his contract terminated (especially if he has another club interested).

Still can't fully understand why Chris Wilder hasn't dropped Ramsdale yet? I mentioned the other day that I'm glad Town at least hadn't shelled out £18.5m on a GK. I'm sure he'll come good in time, much like relatively here most agree that in time and with babysitting, Kovar will become a good keeper. But surely Ramsdale needs a break to take the pressure off a bit? Not saying Foderingham should get selected but there is Verrips (who is less experienced than Foderingham) too. Surely one of those two is worth a, run in the side?
Ok so you might wonder why I'm extracting a post stylised from the Blades Forever Forum but I think an unused GK in a similar circumstance is the type of loan target Town should go after. No not a PL one but maybe an older keeper in unused in the Championship who isn't getting a sniff of the turf.
I still think as well that whilst they might seem happy, last years No. 1 at Newport (King I think) is still not getting a look in over the impressive Townshend and they may bring about a move. It might be unlikely but if Newport wanted to make a bid for Twine, a possible swap deal would suit all parties?! Let's face it, we know Twine is doing well there and could do well here but it won't be him alone that could turn Town's fortunes around. So selling/swapping him could be a go-er. It probably won't happen but imagine the confidence of our defence with someone like King between the sticks.
In all honesty though, if I were King. I might hold my nose for a few months as it's looking likely that the only swap Town and Newport will be doing, will be with the divisions they are in.
An experienced Championship backup keeper will be on £4-5k a week. We can’t afford that. Thinking more practically.. no one loans out their second choice keeper, so this assumes that championship clubs will have an experienced 3rd choice keeper they’d be happy to loan out. Does anyone actually fit this category? Newport’s keeper went off injured at half time last week game so that theory might depend on how bad the injury is

Yeah in some respects I probabaly meant a third choice Champ keeper. There must be several that have one or two knocking about not getting their knees muddy. Then there's leads to how many clubs could be in for that limited pool. I noticed Townshend did go off but by all accounts Flynn says he's back in contention. Obviously having two keepers good enough for the no.1 spot is quite the luxury and the only trouble/headache that brings is keeping both players happy. They'll both want game time, so not getting it can unsettle à player. A loan couldn't be out of the question. The loaning team know the player is still theirs and the player gets game time (especially in a GK position). Gives an opportunity to see where the tide sits come EOS.

Yes, we had two in Benda and McCormick last year! One went and we didn't offer the other an incentive to stay! I'm interested to hear who the '10 changes' might be. Out: In: Kovar GK1 Fryer GK2 Stevens Twine M Smith Palmer That's 8, so the other 2 could be made up of departures of saleable assets because 'the squad is big': - Grant (Think Wellens would love to have him in L2 again) - Hunt (to Salford perhaps?) - Fryers (Has looked good at times) - DJ (Wright appeared exasperated with him) Not sure the rest would get many suitors.

I don't think Anthony Grant would pass a medical anywhere at the moment.
