Anthony Grant posts a picture of his watch set at 5pm.

With the emoji 👀

What we thinking?

It'll likely be somebody he knows, so maybe one of last season's. I think that's a reasonable guess.

Chums, them 2.

If it is Benda that’s almost as good as Grant signing up again. Must be difficult to attract keepers knowing that they’ll be an understudy.

If, and its a big if, its Benda then as you say he would be a massive signing, as importnat as Grant, we would then have basically the same defence and centre midfield as we had, all know each other and their strengths.

That would be a huge bonus point to keep the same defensive side of the team that performed so well last season. The backbone of the team the same.

Good thing is we carried on from where we left off last season and created a bucket load of chances on Saturday, should be attractive to some strikers.

I think Smith will get at least as many as Yates, DJ will get a few and Payne looks to get inside the box at every opportunity judging by his performance on Saturday. I think we still need a goal poacher and add to that Matt Smith who is a very attack minded midfielder who scored a lot for the Arse youngsters I think we will be fine, we create a lot of chances in every game, any finisher worth his salt will score a shitload for us. IMO.

I’m sticking with Maynard - based on nothing at all.

He wouldnt surprise me, as we are playing NW based teams this week and Maynard is NW based, Wellens may well give him a trial see how he fits in.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... we flatter strikers.

Provided we keep on making chances the goals will come. From what I've seen so far it appears as though we will be doing just that.

We are any goal poaching strikers wet dream to play for, the chances we create in the box are very numerous, as Doyle and yates both proved, Doyle especially so, we transformed him from being a journeyman striker into a goal machine the like of which the Town has never seen before.

I am confident Wellens will do that again with the right player.
