I have never understood this whole "likes of Swindon! etc. mentality. I just don't get why some clubs (who clearly are no bigger than us) seem to think they are!
Ah well - I couldn't care less and hope we have another season like last to laugh at the likes of Brighton when they achieve nothing but mid table mediocrity.
(Heres hopoing I don't regret this post!)
Was just about to post something very similar!

Out-of-contract Aberdeen wing-back Charlie Mulgrew is poised to undergo a medical next week and seal a surprise return to Celtic. (Daily Express) Beats the offer from Brentford doesn't it!

Also, that's another defender...
Greer, Cuthbert, Amankwaah, Morrison, maybe Rose, maybe Mullins, Kennedy, Thompson and Evans.
LJF?

Do a majority of Brighton fans now feel they are a big club? Why?

...because next season they are getting a new stadium and their crowds will jump to 20,000+ and they have, what they think is the best young manager of all time Gus Poyet - who has always changed job first chance he gets.

Unfortunately our past 10 years or more means that other clubs will continue to see themselves as above us.
We know we're not the same club we were just two years back, it'll take a little longer for others to realise this.

Who cares what others think? Does it really matter? As long as we continue to bring in quality players for this level we'll be challenging and that's all that matters for me.

I may have to do a little of my own research into the average attendance of a side pre-new stadium and post-new stadium. 20,000 would be getting on for a 200% increase. Doesn't sound very realistic.

I can understand how it may put people off going every week. ie buying a season ticket.
Surely any genuine fans who want to go and support their club, would turnout regularly whatever the state of the ground their playing in. Seems like a pityful excuse to me.
