He's a bit slow though so will only be decent if he plays at CB.

Spoke to a Leeds fan yesterday, when I told him who I supported the first thing he said was that Billy Paynter was going to Elland Road this summer... I said that was interesting and that Becchio was Town bound.
But in seriousness I wouldn't be at all surprised if they tempted BP back up north.

Liverpool have agreed a fee believed to be in the region of 1.7 million for Charlton's Jon Jo Shelvey. It'll be interesting to see if this has any effect on either the player or the team.I know that recently he's been on the subs bench quite a lot. The other point of interest is that Charlton and Liverpool are forming a "strategic partnership" for the development of young players - presumably players being loaned from each club. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/charlton_athletic/8647872.stm

Jonjo Shelvey has passed his medical at Liverpool and will officially join them on 10th May.
The real interesting bit of news, is that he now cannot play for Charlton for the rest of the season.

I wondered about that. Good news as he is one of their potential match winners.

Problem is we need to, at least win one of the last 2, I'd have thought to avoid 6th and thus Charlton.

I think you will find that Shelvey has hardly featured for the last 5 or so games, save being an unused sub.
Personally I want Charlton in the P.O's

Despite the fact we haven't beaten them this year, we have proved we can, twice. Just need to defend for 30 more seconds per game.

I was reading Peter Shirtlifter's diary on the OS. He says he went to a game on Tuesday that was 'a bit of a drive'. From looking at the fixtures this was either Accrington or Darlington.
Darlington would seem to suggest he was looking at the boy Purcell mentioned on Sky website.
I should be a detective.....
