Never thought I'd say this but I find myself looking forward to watching a good old fashioned back four next season.

I'm just looking forward to a core of our team being our players, and tactics that try and win games in the most appropriate way for those players.

good, bad, pretty, direct whatever, it feels like proper football again

How is vigs going to cope?! No pass backs etc. TBH I'm surprised he's still here.

Spot on, Ironically this is where a couple of good young players from Premier/Championship teams could add something

Just for balance - I'm a bit worried about having to watch some pretty grim attritional, 'percentage' football played by hack footballers, which if it doesn't work is really very grim.

Smiley yes fair points Orange and Hans.

I'm thinking more Luggie than a Beck, suppose ineffective pretty football and ineffective hoofball are both opposite sides of the same coin. Dire.

Donal McDermott is apparently training with us. A winger who played under Flitcroft at Rochdale.

He was one of my banker signings on FM2010. He always came up trumps for me there.

He was offered a new contract at Rochdale apparently, so he must have been doing something right.

I expect the novelty of '%age' football will wear off quite quickly... anecdotally crowds seem likely to be quite a bit down on recent years, so it will give an excuse for people not to attend.  The key is if we start winning.

Maybe for the floaters Reg but I missed a few because we just didn't compete and it sickened me.

I want us to compete.

Power has reduced the club to a state whereby the hardcore fans will be very happy to see such basic competence as competing...namely making a few tackles, working off the ball for the team, and having some structures in place for dead ball situations at both ends.

So, the change was necessary, and so far Flitcroft has done well.... the hardcore fans deserve it, sadly though I fear many less than hardcore fans may have drifted away.

Reg has been rumouring the dismise of Swindon Town for as many seasons as I can remember. Does that not count? (Sorry Reg)
