Anyone think there is a chance we actually don't sign anybody else?

Nope, I think worst case is a panic few signings/speculative youth loans. I expect more than that though.

I reckon Doughty's going somewhere.

Southend seem to think they are on the verge of signing a attacking midfielder who scores a few who played in L1 last season.

Like to think if he's stepping down to L1 we'd be first in line.
Southend have Long, Cox and Ranger up front and that's probably a decent line up to be playing behind.

Southend haven't actually signed Ranger yet and he is injured now so wouldn't be surprised if he gets let go.

Edit: see he's just signed a deal.

Doesn't come across as too convincing, but if all's well that ends well, it might be worth waiting for

'Swindon Town head coach Luke Williams says they are deliberately taking their time over new signings this summer.

The League One club have made three permanent signings so far since May, but strikers Nicky Ajose, Michael Smith and Miles Storey have all left.

A groin injury has sidelined defender Raphael Rossi Branco ahead of Saturday's opener at home to Coventry.

"I understand everyone who follows us is getting anxious, but we don't want to rush," Williams told BBC Wiltshire.

"Rushed business is bad business. Good business is considered, well-timed.

"We are in contact with players. The chairman has been incredibly shrewd in the transfer market over the last three seasons. He has shown he's very capable of striking at the right moment.

"But we understand the big show is about to start and we want to make sure we've got the right people in the building, at the right time, ready for that."

In July, Williams said his squad needed strengthening before the start of the new season.

Anyone want to predict the number of players that join who have already played for us? We spent last year loaning back all the players from the playoff season to cover the shit we signed.

It's unimaginative journalism at best though isn't it? Instead of asking the obvious question and getting the obvious answer, you might as well ask him his favourite cheese or something, at least it might get a straight answer. Do we know what Williams' is by the way? Hopefully better than Cooper's choice!
