And here's me thinking how we are going to fit the players we've got into a 4-3-3.

Sure, we need a CB and GK.

Defence: Thompson, Scouser 1, BOO, Branco AN Other

Midfield surely is sorted. Kasim, Scouser 2, Frenchie, 2nd Frenchie,  cover re Marshall and Randall, Rogers, Barry (meh)

Up front looks like Beaks, Smith (meh), Hylton, Byrne

Chuck in Brophy and Coops reckoning on 2 more

Looks OK to me

I reckon we'll get 5 more in by the end of the window. We've clearly missed out on some 1st choice targets as Power stated we'd be doing our business early.

Prem loanees are always likely to be last minute deals. I suspect the disappointment many are feeling is in part down to us not spending cash on at least one player, when, by our standards, we've made a lot of money from sales this year.

Doesn't look terrible, for me, aside from GK, another CB needs to be priority. I love Branco, but I don't trust him as a starter week in week out.

My main concern is Frenchmen....

I don't know. We could put out a half-decent side. Attack-minded bench though.

Vigouroux
Darras - Jean-François - Noubissie - Comminges
Cuervo - Nalis - Diagouraga - Zaaboub
Kerrouche - Nguessan

Bench: N'Daiye - Ruster - Sabin - Péricard - Razak - Téhoué

(Used Swindon-Town-FC rules on double nationalities)

But who's made the mistakes this pre season? Everyone bar Branco I think - albeit he hasn't played that much game time.

I think that is 'French Speaking' as you've popped a few Algerians in there.

All French nationals according to the venerable Richard.

As a yardstick, look at our final squad numbers for last season. Then you look what we definitely have now any difference is what we could get into by transfer window close + or - one or two.

See I reckon that side is terrible....100% relegation.

Comminges, has been the only one, to give one decent season, and he fucked off sharpish for a couple of Euros more to disappear into mediocrity.

And it'll happen next year, and the year after that, and so on. Often from the same characters that just don't seem to learn.

....and we get the same happy clappers shooting down their opinion.

Our squad looks weak, weaker than last years.
Our philosophy of Prem loans means we will do late business as the Prem clubs will use their entire squad across their many money making marketing exercise friendlies across the globe.

Would I have liked to have seen a few more perminant transfers by now, yes....considering we've sold for decent money a percentage of reinvestment isnt a stretch to be expected.

I don't think we'll have our squad in place till the end of August....shame the Premiership can't start two weeks earlier than the football league or something.

Long way to go but not expecting anything remotely like last season. As always proof of the pudding will be in the eating...

And rightly so as far as I'm concerned, getting wound up over hypothetical situations is immature nonsense.
