Reuben Reid has submitted a transfer request today.Would he fit the bill of young talented player, who could develop? Ex Plymouth youngster who's also from the West country.
Jonathan Obika on a season loan from Spurs would be exremely useful. He did very well on loan at Yeovil.Budgie gets on well with Harry, certainly worth pursuing.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/w/wrexham/8119302.stmMangan of Forest Green? 26 goals in 39 games last season and only 22 years old. Locally based so worth a look, although "He is currently facing an FA charge for breaching betting rules which dates back to his days at Bury. Mangan, who was at Bury at the time, has been charged with betting £3,500 on his own team to win, which is also against FA rules." Never see us doing anything like that.

Is Mangan even allowed to play in the FL at the moment (hence why he's not getting interest from further up).

Ah, might explain why he's in non-league then. Shame, anyone that can score 26 goals at the age of 22 must be worth a look.

I mentioned him a few months back but I think hes awaiting the outcome of the Football League match fixing probe, but if he comes through it then gotta be worth a risk. I am a little surprised that Andy Mangan from Forest Green Rovers hasnt been mentioned, same sort of size and build as Coxy and been banging in the goals.....26 in 39 games in the Conference.
Wouldnt have to move homes, is only 22 so has got potential, might be well worth a gamble IMO.
And like Cox has scored three hat-tricks this season against Torquay United, Lewes FC and Rushden & Diamonds.

Just found this on him. Wrexham FC interested in Forest green striker Andrew Mangan
Published Date: 24 June 2009
WREXHAM FC are interested in signing Andrew Mangan but insist a deal has not yet been struck to sign the highly-rated striker. Prolific frontman Mangan is out of contract at Forest Green Rovers where he finished top goal scorer in the Blue Square Premier in his first season at The New Lawn, netting 26 times in 39 outings.
Although a number of clubs have shown an interest in Mangan, the 22-year-old currently has a Football Association charge hanging over his head.
Mangan was one of five players bring probed by the FA for breaching betting rules.
The five have been charged with betting on a victory for Bury against Accrington Stanley in the final game of the 2007-08 season.
Mangan, who was then with Bury but has also played for Accrington Stanley, did not play in the game but has been charged with betting £3,500 on his own team to win, which they did, 2-0.
Under FA rules, players, managers or coaching staff are prohibited from betting on the result or progress of any match or competition in which the participant is participating or has any direct or indirect influence.
A panel is to sit next month and with a number of clubs in pursuit of the Liverpool-born Mangan, Wrexham's co-assistant manager Brian Carey said the outcome of the hearing would determine if the striker could be enticed away from Forest Green.
"Andrew needs to find out where his future lies," said Carey in response to the hearing. "I am not too sure of the ins and outs of it so it would be unfair for me to comment.
"Andrew has been offered a deal at Forest Green but he has also got offers elsewhere too. You have to remember we are just one of a number of clubs he has spoken too. I am sure a lot of people will be keeping their eye on Andrew's situation."
Wrexham manager Dean Saunders is no stranger to Mangan, who scored a brace in the Reds boss' first game in charge of Wrexham, the 3-2 victory at Forest Green in October. He followed that up with a goal in the 1-1 draw at The Racecourse in March.
With Saunders eager to bolster his strikeforce, Mangan's goalscoring exploits have made him one of Wrexhham's summer targets.
"The manager has spoken to Andrew a couple of times," said Carey. "The lad got 29 goals overall last season. Andrew is a player that works hard and scores plenty of goals.
"We've known all about Andy the last few years having seen him in action, and he scored in both games against us last season. He has impressed us."
The club's Football Secretary Geraint Parry re-iterated that Saunders would pursue his interest in Mangan depending on the outcome of the hearing.
But Parry revealed that Jim Harvey's Forest Green might also be entitled to compensation should Mangan decide to leave.
"Should Andy be available for the coming season, then no doubt a number of clubs would be interested in the Conference's leading scorer from last season," added Parry. "But then there is also a further hurdle of possible compensation which might be due if he were to leave, due to him being under the age of 24."

Isn't he just the next Stuart Fleetwood though? Scored goals in the Conference but has been shit in the football league.

He may well be Rich but he may be the next Ian Wright surely the gamble must be worth it, cant be on big wages, and some players can and do score at all levels. But in fairness I havent seen him play but he sounds like a good prospect, and still only 22.

If we are having a smaller squad i dont think we can take these sort of chances. Didn't griffin finish 4th top goalscorer in that league and we all know how bad he is!

Are you suggesting that we don't try to sign the best that we can?

But in fairness I havent seen him play but he sounds like a good prospect, and still only 22. Maybe but will he be just another player there to make up the numbers like Razak and Sturrock? Waste of a player maybe? Plus with Cox looking like he'll be off before the season starts I think we'll need a few more proven players at league level to fill the void.
