There are plenty of players who PDC brought in who haven't performed and must be earning a handsome wage.

Jay Mac
Gary Roberts
Troy
Navarro
Miller

Get rid of those guys and the wage bill would be reduced a great deal I should think. Just need someone with a good eye to find their replacements.

Plenty of the highest earners there, and none of the top performers. I think Kmac's ability to build the team he really wants for next year will continue to be heavily inhibited by Di Canio's scatter-gun transfer policy and having to accommodate those 4 contracted players at the top, meaning some of the better performers with a higher resale value like Thompson, Devera and Ferry will be let go to balance the books.

I reckon Troy will be one of our top players next season.

Based on the little I've seen. I bet he won't.

First impressions can be deceptive though, there is a reason he was highly valued.

I have a feeling Troy's going to be like the lower league Ledley King.

We just need to offer them the same or improved contract that they're on now.

The contract he was offered must be higher than his previous one surely?? It'd be ridiculous if it wasn't after how he's performed this season.

I don't understand why Troy would nevessarily be one of the higher earners. Hardly one of our senior pro's.

I'd be quite annoyed if NT goes, mainly for the fact we'd be losing a decent player but it's quite frustrating that he spent so many years here being developed and then fucks off after a good year.

Would we get something from a tribunal? If Exeter can get £200,000 or so for Troy, who wasn't even their youth player, then we should get double that for Thompson!

Even more frustrating is the fact he's been a pro here for what 3 years now and has only been given a chance this season. That was in part helped by an injury to Devera and the whole Caddis thing.

He featured in a few games in previous seasons and to be honest, I didn't think he looked anywhere near ready for the professional game. I think he bulked up quite a lot in the summer and that has obviously helped him.

I remember seeing him every so often too. One of his main assets now is his strength, the ability to stand up to other players when they're pressuring him, and I do think that's a pretty recent addition to his game.

Not that I'm having a go DV, but I imagine for a manager it's difficult to stick a young pro with potential in the side- always a bit of a gamble, especially when it's a defender. Let's just be happy that keeping him on paid off when Devera/Caddis were out of the picture, and he's turned out to be a brilliant player. Now, how to set about keeping him...
