He could definitely do a job for us in league One. A mixture of youth and experience is required IMHO, and he could be helpful to the younger members of the squad. If true, could be a fantastic signing.
I agree. Other good thing is all the focus will be on him which would allow the likes of Ritchie space. Won't happen though

HP?
Loads of Plymouth fans are saying it on Twitter, so something must have come out of the club.

Aussie football probably pays around what League One does and I doubt a 34 year old will comand a big wage as people think.

True for most players but every A-League team get to splash out on one so-called 'Marquee Player' who can be paid outside the wage cap. Melbourne Victory are a relatively well-off club and would have been paying him very well. It does though all fit in with the 2 million investment story. Maybe the club wanted to pre-empt the 'where are we getting the money to pay for Harry Kewell?' backlash.

If we were going to bust the budget and get in a "top" player, I'd hope for a lot better than Harry Kewell. Also, if we have a good team spirit as the Adver journo seems to think we have, why rock the boat. Would harry Kewell put bums on seats - doubt it? Would he be a good player in this league - ? Would he get into the team spirit - ?

i doubt the club will break the bank, if we can get him for a season at 3/4k a week then go for it, if he comes in saying he wants 10/15k a week the club are hardly going to say, sure thing.

Kewell, shmuwell. Still dont know if the 2 million is on top of what we have already spent. The fact we have picked up players from championship teams suggests to me we may have spent it already!
On paper the quality of player brought in suggests we already mean businesses. I'm well happy.

If you read his wiki page it says otherwise.

Once upon a time, I'd have been excited by the notion of a player like Harry Kewell being linked to Swindon. Not any more.
Di Canio is nurturing a squad of promising 20-25 year olds mixed with good Football League experience. I see no place for a 'big' name. Why do we need a name like Kewell other than to get the odd armchair football supporter turn up to see him at SN1? A worthy cause in the short term, sure, but further success on the pitch will result in bigger attendances in the long term.
I don't think Di Canio would go near any footballer unless they are fully fit upon signing and willing to put the work in behind the scenes.
To be honest, I know nothing about Harry Kewell. For all I know he could be the consummate professional but if that is the case then he could easily find employers in the Premier League or Championship.

Kewell would be a fantastic addition providing his wages aren't too high.
