Its still massively different David Moyes wasn't given 46 million to spend in his first season and actually spent the first year keeping them in the division since then he has taken them to a champions league place and into europe I would say thats more down to skilled management than spending loads of players.  Moyes signs the right players who he knows will do a job in the premiership Lescott, Jagielka, Phil Neville, Sven should of took a leaf out of his book.
With 2 weeks preparation? What did you think of him as a England manager by the way?

I felt he was an okay England manager no worse than any other of the past 2 decades.  As far as preperation goes he has had the whole season to make decent signings to which he has pretty much failed at Petrov and Elano aside.  Just look how much Benjani's form has dipped since he has been there.

Hmmm its almost like the Swindon effect here!

Good start to the season raised the chairmans expectation levels. If Man City has been consistent all season (rather than being good then bad) most fans would have taken a 9th place finish and so would have the chairman!

The Premier league makes me chuckle.Chairmen must surely realise that all good players eventually end up at the big 4-so if you unearth a gem you've only got one season to get the benefit and no ones gonna break into the elite.Watch Berbatov,Cruz and Petrov move on in the summer, clubs like City have got no chance

Isn't Curbishley also under pressure - saved West Ham from going down last year and a top half finish this season - the directors say it's not good enough.
