You don't have to we in a funnel, it's just an option!
I'm tempted by a pop up tent that takes 3 seconds to erect... anyone used one before?

I'm tempted by a pop up tent that takes 3 seconds to erect... anyone used one before? I've just bought a tent for the IOW festival. The advice I got in Millets and Blacks was to steer clear of pop-up tents. They are great to put up but gettting them down again is a nightmare. Also, they rely on their guy ropes structurally alot more than 'normal' tents. So, when you get people stumbling back to their tents in the dark if they trip and kick your pegs out, the whole thing will come down on you.

it's lost its fun for me after 2 trips. seems more like V than glastonbury nowadays.
i demand more hippies or at least plenty of nutters at festivals. may go to big chill instead.

I thought that last time Oxford. To many people and not enough hippies but we're going to venture a little more beyond the big stages this year and get to see some of the new acts on the smaller stages.
As for pop-up tents McLovin go for it. Mine has lasted five festivals now and is still going strong. Go for the Decathlon brand or dome style rather than the tube shapes, which are a bit cramped.
They're incredibly light and easy to carry and the satisfaction of throwing it like a Frisbee and seeing erect it self in a second as people struggle with poles etc is most satisfying.
Folding them away is a piece of piss there is a technique and you just need to practice a couple of times to pick it up. Once you have it sussed its simple and it’s away again in seconds. They don’t collapse either when a tent peg goes in fact they’re sturdier than a standard tent and will quite happily stay up with no ropes/pegs at all. Plus unlike a standard tent you peg the front and sides of the actual dome so you only require very short ropes, which is less of a falling hazard.
Debit cards only for Sunday, max of 4 tickets per-booking and refresh will not work (new browser window every time!).

They were, but they've not revealed how many... it's rumoured to be down by nearing on 100,000

The line up so far is as appealing as Judith Charmer's spitroast. Except for Neil Diamond and a look at the Verve there’s not much to wet the appetite and Jay Z is going to end up as a round peg in a square hole.
No Lost Vagueness this year either it’s been replaced by a new late night area.
Understandable why sales are down but hopefully the lack of ‘big names’ will stave off some of the plastic fantastics back to V and give the place a little more character back and encourage people to venture beyond the two or three main stages.

everyone I know who wanted tickets seems to have got them. I guess there were a lot fewer people trying this year.
