Busy weekend so not been about muchness Took Jenna into town today and she drags me into the new Sue Ryder charity shop (used to be in the TK Max premises in the Brunel) Whilst Jens is looking at the various forms of tat for 50p I has a walk over to the back of the shop to where there are numerous paintings hanging up. To my fucking surprise there hanging almost out of view inthe far corner is an ORIGINAL promotional poster for Micheal Caine's "Get Carter" I tell you I can't believe my fucking eyes !!!!! I ask the old bint behind the counter how much it is and she says "how does £10 sound ?" I says "that sounds pretty good to me, i'll take it !" On the way out I stuffed £40 into the collecting pot. I stumped up £50 for something that I adore, have no intention nor bought to sell on, the money goes to a cancer charity, that, as you know has touched my life dramatically.

An item is only worth as much as someone will pay.
As a vinyl collector i'm with you on this Fred, i've stumped money up for vinyl some consider worthless. I honestly couldn't give a fuck if something i've spent £50 on is only worth 50p, i pay what it's worth to me, not what the market states. I often simply have to own it, i don't buy it as an investment, i buy it because i love it, i need it, appreciate it ten times more than someone else and wouldn't part with it for anything. Put simply, it gives me pleasure.
