My trusty old iPod is on it's last legs. It's scratched to fuck and the battery only last 4 hours or so which is shit for when I'm working a 9 hour day.

I'm not bothered about video or picture or any funny shit like that, just something that plays music.

I need something 50GB+ because I have a lot of music! Prefer something fairly compact as well.

If you want something compact for 50gb you'd probably be best off just getting another ipod wouldnt you?

Lets just say the Trade Descriptions act could come in handy.

Basically advertised the product as Samsung and then in small print somewhere else said it was unbranded = heap of junk.

There were perfectly legit samsung ones for the same price elsewhere so thats not really the issue.  Its the fact it was misleading advertising.

50gb bugger me I don't own enough to fill more than 20gb and I have 15,000 songs

I think thats about 900 or so albums in total.

You must have a vast collection Sam.

I'm a hoarder, it's in my blood. I hate throwing things away, even if it's useless.

I've got tonnes and tonnes of stuff I don't even really listen to, but it's nice to have it there just incase  Cheesy

Anyway, how can you get 15,000 songs into 20gb???

If you take that average size of an MP3 as 3.5mb your 15,000 songs work out as a good 50gb worth of music.

Ofcourse. Most of my stuff is at 192kb/s, that'll be why it takes up so much space.

I record all my mp3's at 128k as i dont notice the difference unless I crank up the volume, some of my older ones are from vinyl and that only needs 96k bit rate.
