With the outlook looking alot brighter with the running of the club and hopefully with the new owners being alot more transparent with the fans,do you think the trust still have a part to play...I know the fans are split on wether the STFC Trust are a good or bad idea,to be fair without money no trust is ever going to have alot of clout with the big decisions, but hopefully now the Trust and the club can go forward together.

The Trust has always been about good governance of the club, securing a voice for fans in the club, bringing the club and the wider community closer together and promoting the interests of STFC supporters both in the club and the town. So I guess if you don't see any of the above as worthwhile, then fair enough.

If you take the narrow view of the last year, then I can see why you'd perhaps see the Trust as just being about "getting the old lot out", but the Trust has always been about much more than that. For example, have a look at the work we did with the council, local community groups and the club on the ground redevelopment proposals: http://www.truststfc.co.uk/pdf/SwindonCommunitySportsHub.pdf.

And yes we'd also hope we can go back to working with the club, to move forward together. But I'd still say the stance we took over the past year was both necessary and very much part of the "good governance" part of our remit.

Basically we will continue to do what we always have done - work in the way our members instruct us to help secure the club's future. If you're not happy with the way we're fulfilling our remit, the easiest way to change it is to join the Trust and tell us to change what we're doing.

any organsiation is only as strong as its members.
although i did become a bit disillusioned with the trust before the takeover was completed.emotions were running high. and i think anything i disagreed with at the time can be forgotten.the trust are genuine fans and care for the club deeply.
hopefully brighter days are ahead of us,so we can see the trust not having to fight against a useless board.instead working together with the new and better one.

Which reminds me Mr Davis I think my membership must be up soon and as I paid full whack last year do I get the £1 price this year?

I'll hack up anyway but I thought I herd rumour of an offer to renew at cheap rate if you paid the full amount last year.
