I swear my all-time favourite team and driver line-up was Rydell and Harvey in the Volvo 850. Rickard Rydell And what about Alain Menu and Yvan Muller? Aren't they all racing WTCC these days?

Oh yes, and Tarquini and James Thompson. WTCC has taken over the mantle as the world's top touring car series, after the BTCC had held it for so long.

Is this your motorsport revolution with zoo animals and stuff? Too right. But I couldn't afford the redundancy pay off which would come from putting them all out of work. They'd have to change their jobs to Lion and Tiger test drivers.

I know a sponsor of the BTCC and I'm off to Rockingham at the weekend for free. I've never been to Rockingham - any recommendations?
That Volvo Estate was mental - although does anyone remember Kelvin Burt trying to kill himself in it one race?
I never really liked Menu and his two terrible cars the Ford Mondeo and Renult Laguna - ugliest cars ever in the BTCC. I think I hated the foreigners in the BTCC - Biela can be added to the list, along with Aiello (although I sat with his wife and kid one race and she was quite nice), Larini... FB and LA turned up for one season won it and disappeared again - I thought Gio would've done the same.
And Plato's a twat - I'm hoping he goes this year - perhaps stays in the car when it's alright this time around.

As I stopped going to touring cars in 2001 I have never been to Rockingham. Looks like if you get in any of the stands on the oval you can see the whole track though, so that is a bonus.
Biela was ace and was in it for 2 years (1996 - champion, 1997), so there! I loved the way Toca kept trying to weigh down the A4 Quattro. Biela was replaced by Yvan Muller in 1998 and he was awesome.

I have memories of Steve Soper taking out Cleland in a BMW so his team mate could win the title or something. Used to love it as a kid.

Humphrey Lyttelton is getting on a bit. Result although I'm also a bit sad. Is that the first correct prediction which wasn't made after the bloke had gone missing having given fatal coke to his girlfriend?
