I think he was on about word of mouth at their game today. I'm sure there will be some talk on there soon.

Yes it seems as though some people say Ling finds it hard to come up with a plan B. It doesn't sound like he is loved a great deal there despite their lofty position.

I heard today that Fitton and Ling are close mates, and he'll be talking to him on Saturday.

Another name to put into the mix is Mike Newell, he has done well previously and only left Luton when they was having all the troubles with the Bungs etc which made his job harder.

Can't stand him. Dunno why he just looks a bit shifty, and he's got a mullet.

Well if we were to beat Bournemouth and Swansea (OK, a couple of fairly sizeable 'ifs' there I know but stranger things have happened) then surely 'Budgie' Byrne will have a pretty strong case wouldn't he?

I'm just thinking about Fitton's comments about having his coaching badges and thereby implying that he might be thinking of a rather more hands on approach than other club owners/chairmen.

He might think Byrne would be more receptive to his ideas than an established manager would be.

I know I'm probably putting 2 + 2 together and coming up with 16253749.03894, but that's what this forum is about isn't it really?

the fact Fitton has drawn up a short list and is doing interviews shows he has no intention of appointing Byrne as manager and rightfully so.
