I'm warming to the idea I'll be honest.
As long as he makes an effort with us the fans. You know, when we've been beat away from home, he pushes the players back onto the pitch to clap us.

For me it has to be Martin Allen. He's got the experience and obviously knows football at our level.
Why don't people like him? I don't get it! He may not be the most loyal manager, but as we all know, who is at our level of football.
Ex-swindon legends don't neccessarily make good managers. We need experience and a proven track record. Then surely Allen is counted out then. He has never even won promotion at any club he has been with...walked out on 3 of them after trouble with the boards... Actually been a manager for less time overall than Nijholt, he won promotion as an assistant at reading but then Nijholt got to a Eufa cup semi final with Alkmaar.

He's a better choice than Shaun Taylor or Luc Nijholt IMO.

He's a better choice than Shaun Taylor or Luc Nijholt IMO. But a worse choice than Cotterill. After all, he was the only manager of a team relegated from League One to League Two the season before last not to get them straight back up last season. Despite having the biggest budget.

Good point, well made.
Allen's got to the play offs twice though and was quality at Brentford with very little money. Hopefully with Fitton on board we'd be more stable financially so would give him less reason to won't to go. He's proven in England in my opinion.
I still think Nijholt is a risk and Allen's are no. 1 choice.
I'm just praying we'll have a team for someone to manage! [/quote]

Take away the fact that Nijholt played for us. If some other bloke who currently manages in the 2nd tier of Dutch football expressed an interest would anyone want him?
Allen is a disloyal, arrogant cunt whose teams play shite football.
Shaun Taylor has no experience.
|If these are the only three that are interested I'm very underwhelmed..........

I agree Steve the only reason I see Nojholt as a possiblt replacement is because of his playing for Swindon, never say die mentality and a fair amount of coaching/management experience...but the calibre of the applicants leave a huge amount to be desired...but to be honest who else would want to come to a club in our predicament I guess?

I'm sorry but forget Nijholt played for us, Brian Kilcline also played for us (well had a go) would you want him as manager?
Nijholt has coaching experience yes, but where? The Dutch 2nd division FFS!
He's a cunt is Martin Alllen but he's managed in England and he's passionate.
