I'd be happy with cotterill

Same as, did a good job with little money at Cheltenham and before this season also a good job at Burnley.

I'd just like a manager that stay's longer than a season.

it's all speculation at the moment though isn't it?

the current board won't appoint anyone, and the new board isn't in a position to yet.

i would be happy with cotterill though, he's a very highly qualified coach and has a track record to back up his tickets: it's largely due to him that cheltenham are where they are now, and in my mind he did a great job to keep burnley competitive in ccc for so long.

Ed Hadwin knows what he's on about and he reckons Sturrock is on his way out. I'm disappointed but this club is such an utter shambles, I can't say I blame him.

I reckon Cotterill would be a good replacement.

Please, please, please though, don't let it be Martin Allen :?

Only problem with Cotterill is the 'Quitterill' tag the Cheltenham fans gave him when he left.  IF Sturrock leaves (and I think it would now take some serious intervention from Fitton to stop it happening), I want a manager that will be there for at least 4 seasons who can build something.  The sad thing is that, once the monkeys currently running the club in to the ground are gone, I thought Sturrock would have had a fighting chance of being that person.

That said, nothing against Cotterill per se.  He would be a decent enough replacement.

The only people I'd be totally happy with would be Ling or Hoddle

I don't get all this 'you can't blame Sturrock malarky'? this is the same bloke who was sticking up for the board, telling us how brilliant they were just a month or so ago.

There's no loyalty in Football these days, im just surprised that he'll be going back to somewhere that he is worshipped as it could easily backfire on him.

very well said, and couldn't agree more.

given that plymouth are currently 4th, there is only 1 possible way they can go.

as for getting someone better than sturrock... who do you suggest? many people say he's the best manager outside the premiership, and whilst that's a bit OTT to say the least, managers of his calibre don't tend to be sat around waiting for the swindon job to become available.

Perhaps but that doesnt answer the question, you said IF STURROCK GOES, we need to get in a better manager. Given our funding who would you say is better? You won't find many.
