Who would want the job anyway.Aside from the money on offer it must be one of the worse jobs a manager/coach could have. What with the wildly over optimistic fans, the newspapers hounding you where ever you go,not to mention a bunch of over-paid and over-rated metrosexuals that you have to somehow persuade that its an honour to play for their country.

Its all the FA's fault, should have picked someone other than the tufty one[the poor sod]everyone thought so at the time and sadly its been proved right.

Oh well least its saved me and Birdy from having to wash Whits underpants Wink

(This post isnt meant to be made in an antagonising way)  but ..

I can't see why Jose Mourinho would want to take the England job.  With Chelsea, he had a chairman who would bankroll any signings which Mr Mourinho wanted.  He basically could afford to buy the best players in the world, and was successful as a result.

With England, he would have a group of good players to pick from, but then couldnt purchase a new goalie like Cech if he suddenly thought Robbo, James or Carson were not up for the job.

Mourinho will only take the job on if he thinks England can win a major tourney.  Otherwise the hassle of media pressure and fan expectations will be to much.

I reckon an Englishman will take the job - possible pearce

I would like to see Jose get the job. But i think he has already said he would only manage Portugal and he wants to stay in club football. Don't know of any other contenders really but anyone is better than MClaren.

It'll be Steve Bruce, that's why his move to Wigan has been held up.

Or why Paul Jewell turned it down ? Wink

Because he has technical nous that has been sadly lacking under the last two fuck wits and he has the knack of bringing on young players.

Surely you wouldn't have to bring on young players in that role Fogster ?  Just make the prancing ninnies play to somewhere near their already developed status.

Now, If you were arguing for Wenger to be made supremo of all things developmental at a national level, you might be onto something.
