Dawkins book is indeed good and relatively balanced i.e. not offensive unless you are a bit of bible basher.

i hate all religion and find it ridiculous that there are so many brainwashed idiots that follow such flawed beliefs.
christianity is taught as a fact in schools, and that is disgracefull imo.

i remember when i was very young we used to sing hyms before and assembly and stuff but it died out pretty quick in the late eighties.

Definitely didn't do prayers before meals. Might have sung a few hymns or something. I don't really remember much about primary school. Definitely no religion at secondary school though.

Some people need a reason to live, and it really does help them get through life as well... Let them get on with it I say, I could never follow a religion and if I chose to I doubt it would be something as dogmatic as Christianity which has a ridiculous amount of flaws....

I can't help but take pity on mormons though.. That religion really takes the biscuit.

I went to a C of E school, we didn't do prayers or anything. Infact, our headteacher was a Hare Krishna.
