I found out last night my Mums cancer is back. She had it in her stomach and it was in remission but it is back.
We dont get on well and she lives in Canada. It still comes as a shock to the system.
Its an awkward situation as there is nothing you can do. The fact I dont get on with her doesnt make it any easier as it becomes a blame game etc if we talk.
What a bloody horrible situation to be in, my Nan who I live with hates my Mum with a passion as well so its hard to broach the subject of going to visit etc... ARRGHHH.
Sorry for this rant but need to get it out of my system. I am heading out with my uncle now for a few drinks and talk!

I think Al's just trying to protect Gaz from some shit tbh.
Gaz, FWIW, thats a real messy situation. Whatever you decide to do, just make sure your conscience is clear. Whatever you do or don't do will stick with you for the rest of your life. Do what YOU feel is the right thing though, not what everyone else thinks. Good luck and hope it all works out.

Bad luck Gaz. If you feel you need to see her then it should be an easy decision.

Alan Obviously you have a very low opinion of the people on here Alan. This is cancer we hare talking about, not some petty internet squabble

Thats a bummer.
Had pretty much the same situation with my old man and regret not getting to see him.

Thats a bummer.
Had pretty much the same situation with my old man and regret not getting to see him. My wife had exactly the same thing with her dad, though it wasn't her's (or his) fault, it was her bloody mother. Anyway, an old neighbour got in touch and said that her dad wanted to see her. She thought long and hard about it but decided to visit - and saw him three times before he finally died. It helped her and made him happy - still has nothing to do with her mother though! Do what you think best mate, don't be frightened to put off that decision though.
