Ipod help

I need help with my Ipod.
Basically it appears to have stopped working. It is on the screen where you choose songs, podcasts etc but is paused and none of the buttons at all are working.
I have tried plugging it into Itunes but this does nothing.
Any suggestions? I hope it isn't broken as it is only about 20 months old and I have 6,500 songs on it.

Ditto with my sisters nano. Went to the apple site support section and followed all the reset options and it came back to life.

I think you press the centre and menu button simultaneous for like about 6 seconds and it resets

Use a sonic screwdriver to reverse the polarity on the flux capacitor.

On my Nano you flick the Hold switch at the top while pressing the centre button I think.
It resets it.
