We must have covered this before but I'll be damned if I'm going to search...

Anyone had them come through?  I've just noticed, while sucking on a blackcurrant Tune that I have one starting to rear its head.

I was sure they'd never come through given my age, what's the drill?

If they are not causing you a problem then don't worry it is only when they start to get painful you have to get them removed, either pay the dentist to take them out or depending how bad have it removed under a general anasetic at the hospital...but they have about a 6 month waiting list.

I had mine removed 9 years ago.

The best part was the local anesthetic. Couldn't remember a thing afterwards. It was like being pissed as a fart.  Cheesy

My wife had hers out at the hospital a few months ago and they do knock you out with an anisetic but bring you round very quickly afterwards and dose you up with tablets before and after.

You'll probably have to be in for 8am and waiting uptil 2pm to get it done...just sitting in the waiting room and watching everyone go in before you and thinking you've been forgotten !!

I was told last year i'd have to have them out and have to be put to sleep while it was done cos they were in pretty bad shape but then when i went to have it done, they had changed their minds! I was well pissed off cos i had geared myself up to have them out and then they decide they won't take them out.

I've had all sorts of of problems with these buggers down the years....impacted ones are the worst and although they can remain dormant for a long time to quote the trade "are not an asset".

Lower jaw are more problemmatic than upper jaw.....I had my last one removed about 3 years ago at the the BDH (Bristol Dental Hospital)....it was ace.   The fit upper class dentist told me if she got it wrong I'd lose the feeling and movement in part of my jaw, so had to sign a disclaimer...they then shot me full of a mixture of adrenaline and novocaine....think I might be susceptible to having more substances in my system, as I shot out the chair and was running around like a headless speed freak....apologising but I couldn't stop and sit down....they just left me too it for about 15 mins, before I ws ready for the procedure.  Job was agood un, but where the wisdom had impacted against another molar, it caused that to destabilise and it fell out in the summer...bummer.
