Obviously have no clue if they want Gary Megson to be their manager.

Christ almighty.

Talk about signing a death warrant.

It always puzzles me when football chairman seem to want to employ people who are so shite at their jobs that they've been sacked on x amount of times.

Bryan Robson
Graeme Souness
Peter Reid
Gary Megson

Would definitely be in that catagory.  It's like there's a closed shop for finding football managers.

Definitely a bizarre choice, I thought they should of been doing everything they could to persuade Paul Jewell to go to them as I think he would have been perfect.

Agree with your list Jan I always shake my head when any of those clowns are linked to jobs.  What a great job Bryan Robson is doing at Sheffield Utd he inherited one of the strongests squads in the championship and spent 8 million yet hes in the bottom half of the championship, what an awful manager.

Bolton should have a serious re-think as Megson is utter dog shite.

I beg to differ with Souness. He did a good job at Rangers and Benfica. Newcastle was his only 'hiccup' really.

it baffles me that Megson is flavour of the month . He did a good job at West Brom and and absolute awful job at Forest.

That and buying Ali Dia, a player he'd never seen play and bought only on the basis that he thought he was Weah's Cousin.

With West Brom his success was built on being solid but not great football - sounds like Bolton to a tee...

If I were a Bolton fan I'd be more than sceptical about it though.

He was at Southampton for a bit too and wasn't that great.  At Liverpool he was below average.

At Rangers he did alright but back then again it takes a truely awful manager to fail at Rangers/Celtic.  Celtic were notoriously poor back then too.

Souness is and always has been terrible.

He was rubbish at Benfica and got sacked after two seasons.

He's only loved in Turkey because of "the flag incident", which was class btw.

The key element in this is that Allardyce was appointed on a hunch, rather than any track record.    In other words he looked like the sort of fella who would fit into their norvern club.  Presumably Gartside thinks the same about Megson....he can't be all bad if Frank Burrows works with him.

Who can ever forget Allardyce's classic choke at Blackpool which allowed the scum promotion in 95/96....does that make McMahon a better manager?
