Neither owned nor seen either of those. Bought my mum a Garmin which is OK for the money. The other option is to go second hand/refurb 'brand name' but of course the guarantee is less/non existent. http://www.morgancomputers.co.uk/shop/detail.asp?ProductID=4313

I got my tom tom one from Halfords for £139. Tesco also had it for about the same price not so long ago, not sure if they still got it though. Mapping can be a bit dodgy in a place or two but on the whole excellent for the money.

I don't own one Arriba, but borrrowed a mates tom tom when I had to drive to Glasgow Airport. Getting to Glasgow is no bother for anybody but the motorway system that appears to criss-cross the city is a nightmare. We got there and got back onto the A82 to come home without the slightest difficulty.

sounds like cheating to me, like using the instructions to assemble IKEA furniture or having golf lessons. i like to rely on twat-nav instead; wholy unreliable but more manly.

I borrow my in-laws TomTom the other day. Incredibly simple to use. Much better than the hand held Magellan I bought in the States a few years ago. Heard that the Garmin is not so user friendly and the Navman is basically crap. Think there is a review on www.autoexpress.com somewhere. NMH

The Sony ones are shit, at least the one I have is...you can't update the maps and it's well out of date, I've had it about 18 months though, it was free with a laptop...
I also have a tomtom on my work PDA which is pretty good and you can update it.
