http://www.truststfc.co.uk/news_item.php?id=1112TrustSTFC, the Swindon Town Supporters` Trust, is backing manager Paul Sturrock`s call for clarity from the owners of the club. The manager said a week ago that the fans deserve to know what is happening to their club and he is absolutely right about that.
The takeover deal has been "days away from completion" with "just some minor paperwork to be completed" for several weeks now and we are apparently no closer to a conclusion than when it was first announced. Today`s statement from Jim Little is welcome but tells us nothing we haven`t heard before, and will do nothing to allay fans` very real and legitimate fears as to the future of their football club. If Mr Little wants to reassure fans perhaps he, or the current board of the club, could start by answering the following questions :-
Who is in charge of our football club?
If this takeover goes ahead, who will then own the club - real people, not shadowy holding companies?
Will Jose Veiga resign his position as an agent if he is, as we are told to become General Manager? FA regulations are very clear that agents are explicitly prohibited from having either a financial or managerial interest in any FA-affiliated club?
What is going on with Paul Sturrock? When will he get the clarity he so clearly wants regarding his own position at the club?
And most importantly, as it still remains a real and imminent threat to the club`s very existence, If the two sides cannot agree a deal can they tell us who is going to pay the CVA and when?
Until these questions are answered, and the need to do so becomes more pressing every day, Swindon Town fans will continue to be fearful for the future of their football club.
