JPT Rules -
quote Clubs have also made a renewed commitment to fielding full-strength teams throughout the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. Under the competition's rules, clubs will be required to include in their matchday line-up a majority of the 11 players that have appeared most often in first team games this season.
unquote Sturrocks comments in the programme : 'There are lucrative financial returns for getting to the latter stages and we will be making a real effort to do all we ca in the JPT' Then makes 11 changes !!! I believe last year that a team won through in the JPT, and made 6 changes and still got fined by the FL, so a fine is probably coming our way. By the way, Brentford, who played their first team were crap, and after Arrieta equalised, there was only one team in it. We could've won 7-1.

My views
Brez - didn't have much to do but did 99% of it well. Made one 'mistake' when trying to punch but got away with it as the ref ave a foul. 7/10
Tozer - Off the pace tonight. 5/10
Blackburn - Solid, didn't do anything wrong, scored 2. 8/10
Almeida - good performance but a mystery why we need another centre back. 7/10.
Kennedy - Is this his first start. Looked useful if not 1st team ready. 6/10
JPM - Not super quick, just super accurate. Quality deliveries 9/10.
Allen - Did pretty well for a young un. - 7/10.
Comminges - Mixed bag but hard working and lively - 7/10
Cox - lively and a promising start. Needs to be more clinical. 7/10
Arietta - wonder goal aside worked hard and made some good passes (though I see others dissagree) 7/10
The Prophet - Game stepped up a gear when he came on. Looked a threat 7/10.
Mini Review (condensed) --------------- Brentford had the ball a lot but were largely as threatening as rice pudding. Shakes played up front and took his goal well. After that he was just Shakes.
We created most of the chances and had greater quality by far. John-Paul McGovern has the ability to put the ball exactly where he wants it. He will be an asset to this club make no mistake.

Brentford are by far the worst team I've seen in a long time.
We only looked so good because they were fucking shit. Still enjoyed the game thoroughly though.
Batch missed out Adams from his list, who I thought was superb tonight. Broke up the play well, good passing and even got forwards once or twice.
JPM was different gravy with his set pieces. Some loon sat next to me said "He's not as good a crosser as Roberts". What a wanker, JPM set up all 4 goals.

Was a good performance tonight, some good goals as well. Don't know why people were booing Shakes, he played quite well not his fault he was let go was it. As I said to my old man, Him scoring and us winning was the perfect result, I hope he gets a long term deal there as he may lack quality but is 100%er and just wants to play football

As for tonight well it was a pretty boring game tbh. We didn't really play that well although we weren't awful. We finally woke up after the 3rd goal (yes Brentford were that bad) and we could have scored 5 or 6 easily. Great goal from Arrieta. JP looked very good as well.

Agree with Sam, we only looked good because they were so shit.
I'd sooner pay to watch paint dry than paint pot trophy games as bad as that. Aside from the wonder goal and the final 20 minutes or so, there was nothing much going on. Hoof, hoof and more hoof.
Defence looked a little lost on occassion but did better once they got into the game.
Didn't use the midfield through the middle at all until near the end. When the wingers got involved looked useful.
Strikers looked a threat. Didn't have too much support at times, but I thought made some useful runs which caused problems. Arrieta worked his bollocks off. Think they also stood out a lot becuase their defence was so poor. Mohammed looked really useful once he came on.
