aljofree looked solid whilst defending but seemed to lack any vision moving forwards.

Why did he take Roberts off t 1-0? To rest him for Saturday? Easily our best player tonight. Wank substitution.

Totally agree - the only player with any creativity. After he went off, we didn't look remotely like scoring -  Wank substitution.

Why keep Sturrock on the pitch so long. It would have been nice to see Arieta for longer. We know what Blair can do.

We know what Sturrock CAN'T do - he was total crap; what's he supposed to offer - no touch, no control, can't pass, can't shoot, lazy, can't head to save his life, doesn't hold up the ball, didn't make any telling runs [apparently his trade-mark !!]. I rate Sturrock Snr as a manager, but if he continues to play his son - he's gonna lose all credibility. Sad .

Easton did OK, didn't rate Adams that much but he is still gaining match sharpness. Didn't like that pairing though, no attacking flair.

Totally agree - Adams didnt impress, but Easton looked promising. Need mor creativity, but to be honest, can't see where the hell it's gonna come from !!

I thought Adams did a good job - just sat in front of the back four and soaked things up - we were difficult to break down and v organised, especially 1st half - and that was down to his positioning. 2nd half they came out and realised that the best way through us was down the wings, attacking Tozer (who did well for a kid) and to a lesser extent Jack Smith who got little cover in front of him.

I was expecting Easton to get on the ball more and be our playmaker - an Orient fan I know said he ran the game for them last year - but saw no sign of that at all. Hard working enough, just didn't see enough of it.

Dissapointed with Commingues, but he'll be learning. Aljofree looked the business.

We'll go down unless we sign some proven strikers - probably with the lowest goals conceded of any relelgated side

I though pre season was suppose to be finnished? That was a dull game.

If we dont score in the first 20 minutes against Luton we will loose again.

Personally, I think the reason people are having differing views over Adams and Easton is that they kind of look a little bit like eachother, and neither have lumionous pink boots, or a ridiculous haircut. Basically, I found it hard to say one was good/bad, but their definitely looked a hell of a lot more effective in midfield together than we have done for the last couple of seasons. Adams had a lovely left footed shot in the first half that went just over. The only issue is, neither will really run with the ball, so we are very dependant on the wingers.

Brez was good apart from one missed catch

Aljiofree was very good. Didn't look out of place against higher league opposition. Looked to bring down the ball when possible, and put his head in when necessary.

Ifil was quiet, didn't do anything too daft. Nice to see Aljiofree taking a bit of a leading role instead of Jerel.

Tozer poor in first half, but got better. Some poor distribution though.

Smith was ok.

Roberts was brilliant. I presume he was rested for the weekend when he was subbed.

Minge was pretty poor. He looked like he liked to run at a player against Exeter, but showed no signs of this and mainly punted the ball about 4 feet above Peacock, or attempted an outrageous cross-field ball that ended up at the feet of a Charlton player.

Sturrock. Terrible.

Peacock. Almost as bad.

In conclusion, we need a striker, and some more black players. Reid, Ambrose and Weaver were the only white guys they had. I hope thats not racist. Just an observation really.

I didn't need to go to the game. I already knew the result.

Agree with you there, although I thought Easton looked a lot more composed than Adams and produced some very neat passes.

The Adver have rewritten the score
To be fair to Tozer he was playing out of position and their right winger was tricky and fast.  At least he could pass with both feet and trap the ball which was beyond Sturrock.  The Cock worked hard again but I wished Barry Corr had been on the end of the chances he had in the first half.  Roberts was quality, liked the look of Ifil and Aljofree in defence.  Didn't really notice Adams or Easton (apart from his shot) - we had our hands full coping with Charlton's movement and control in midfield. The Minge was good and bad and Jack Smith had a fine last 10 minutes but looked utterly indecisive for the rest of the game - why doesn't he read what Roberts is going to do and overlap more? .  A great double save from Brez more than made up for the dropped cross in the first half.  I didn't think the Boob was that bad - he provided a bit of a spark when Roberts had gone.

I think J Smith deserves more than a 6 TBH.

My marks ..

Brez 7 - some great point blank saves
Smith 5 - poor crosses
Tozer 6 - good enough for a youngster on debut
Aljofree 7 - looked a good reader of the game
Ifil 6 - didnt dominate as usual
Comminges 5 - didnt impress on debut unlike Sat as a sub
Easton 5 - pretty anonymous
Adams 5 - likewise
Roberts 8 - set up some great chances for the Cock looked up for it
Peacock 6 - worked hard but missed best chances
Sturrock 4 - looked unfit and very poor indeed

Subs - Pook 6 - never really got going but did more than Easton and Adams
Arrieta 5 - hardworking but ineffective
Zaaboub 4 - awful AGAIN! really out of sorts lately

He was starting to make me nervous whenever the ball went to him.  It seems to take him ages to make his mind up what he's going to do.  This might be because other players aren't giving him any options but I need a bit more convincing

Easton and Adams anonymous?

What game were you watching Fatters?

Zaaboub was OK, makes some good runs but is a bit frustrating. I think him and Roberts have swapped bodies in pre-season.
