I think it's a real shame that fans make it almost impossible for any young, local players to succeed.
Pook isn't a world beater (never will be) but he's 100% committed and deserves some respect over and above some of the Prima Donas we have in the squad.

Why do so many of our fans boo players (Pook mainly) when they are announced?
It's hardly gonna improve their performance is it?
Booing individuals at the end of a game, or if they're subbed, when they've been shit I understand.
But booing before they've played?
Pook got boos when he came on at Exeter :?

i don't agree with your statement at all. i think the fact we've had no one to "get excited over" (giggle) just means the adver or wdp or whoever will try to big up whatever we've got. if anything we over try to want people to suceed. my money is on them trying to make allen sound like zidane soon or something like that.
and the fact that pook doesn't play like he's commited, more like a hesitant child, that irks most. so to that end i don't think he deserves any more respect than anyone else. he's also made sounds about being bored at swindon so...yeah commited

Its a fucking joke, sorry but there are many players that play bad, but pook is a constant scapegoat. I swear people wait for a mistake and wait for the number 19 shirt and then start to heckle, whenever other players make mistakes e.g. jutkiewicz, and believe me yes he was good but he made as many mistakes if not more than pook. Good post herthab  Same as Roberts, Zaaboub, Peacock as well last season. If they're not performing what can you expect? The point is, they're not being given an opportunity to perform before the boo boys begin. I might inwardly groan if I see a player coming on who's been shite the last few games, but how is booing him gonna improve his game? It doesnt, it just knocks the player even more and makes the player perform less frequent I was referring to the heckling. I don't like it either, but if people are chucking money to watch rubbish they're bound to be a bit pissed off. |

I think it is pointless booing somebody before the game has even begun. Atleast wait for them to do something wrong, and even then it doesn't do much good to heckle your own player

Agreed they were as bad, but they didn't make a constant fuck up of trying to make a simple pass.most of their fuck-ups come from failing to get by a conference player to get a ball in. maybe i'm so anti-pook as i rated weston as he was more entertaining to watch so guess i should just get over it :roll: |
