Keane was IMHO the on field personification of Fergie - and as such despisable, and he played for Man Yoo. How many world cups and Euros did Keane play in? One at most, he walked out on his nation before the World Cup cos the hotel wasn't posh enough/ he thought he knew best.
Trophies mean so much but Shearer made the decision to repeatedly turn Man Utd down and play for his boyhood club - IMHO that desrves great credit - he was living the dream.

What a load of fucking shit! Keane did not walk out on his country, imagine turning up to a competition, a competition you're there to win, and there's no training kit, no football's to train with. You have a players meeting where you all agree to raise your concerns, then at the meeting with your manager none of the players back you up. What else was he meant to do back down and put up with the third rate preparation. Mick McCathy and the FAI should hang their heads in shame over that. Fucking joke. Also I think if you see footage of the events of 2002 it was Mick McCarthy who sent Keane home (not 198% certain of this though).

yes, he was sent home. or at least that was the official line.
"you're a shit manager, and you were a shit player. and you've got a big nose". i think that's what he said to mccarthy.

Well done Roy, he only said what most people in Britain and Ireland thought.
Can't take anything away from RK's start to management either.

anyone read keanes book? i got it for 50p in hard back the other week ,i read it in two days and liked what he had to say. macarthy was a cock with ireland from what he said, and haaland deffo had it coming to him.the incident with shearer gets mentioned too. keane had his flaws as a player, but fuck me what a grafter and his standards are high

Definitely my kind of player. I'd love to see a player like him play for town a total 100% player, who gives a shit about his team. How anyone can just label him a merely a "cunt" is beyond me. Each to their own I suppose but Roy keane is one of my favourite top flight players of the last 20 years.

Not for me, I'm sure if he played for my team I'd like him, but he doesn't and I don't - there's plenty of players like him - not as good but with his attitude and demanour - mostly despised except by their own fans.

How many trophies did the geordie legend win?
How many did the nutter that is Keane win??
Alan Shearer could have joined any club in the world and won countless trophies, but he gave it all up to play for his home team the one he supported as a bairn Alan Shearer is a Newcastle United legend, Roy Keane is an all hype big mouth

Anyway.....
I think Chopra is a good player, but certainly not £5m worth and definately not Premiership class. Thoughts?
