Speaking of shapes...they're changing the shot put as well. They'll be throwing shapes instead now.

[designer_rant]It's a fucking car crash of a logo Ben. It looks like a wacky cartoon of someone about to get done up the arse. It doesn't work now and will soon look dated, let alone the five years until the the games actually start![/designer_rant]
I can imagine it's quite easy for it to happen, even for good designers. You start throwing around some good ideas - Have 2012 spelt out in a shape which also represent areas of london, and whatever other crazy representative shit is in there, then you are all to busy bringing it all together to step back and go fucking hell that looks shit. Anyway I sort of like it. It reminds me of something they might have used on Going Live or something. I reckon it was a task on the next series of The Apprentice. It will get screened next Spring probably.

youd have thought so, there are enough arts students about. Then a bit of a vote or something and tonnes of my fees would have been saved!

fuck knows, i think my uni are following the current boards strategy and operating on a strategic deficit. which i think means that they can ask for more money from the government, unfortunately i dont think we can try that

That is shite and epilepsy enducing, what a waste of £400k.
There should just have had a public competition (not with a phone vote) to design the winner with a £25,000 prize or something like that. There must be some talented 3 year old that could have come up with a better design. Would have saved some money to
