To be fair a few other people were saying this before the game, I thought it may come back to bit them but not so big.

But lets not forget it is only the West Indies and his real test will come against the better teams.

I think Sidebottom suited the pitch and conditions well - ie he did exactly what was expected (and more) of him - entirely justifying his selection - perhaps above all else the coach/selectors need crediting for chosing the correct man for the conditions against most peoples better judgements.  Whether he is the man for the job long term remains to be seen, but of all our seamers he offered the best line, length and consistency over the test, and more than deserves the rest of the rest of the series to prove himself - we should be more than good enough against a terrible Windies side to warrant maintaining status quo in the side.
