Recalled to the England squad for the friendly against Brazil.

Good move or not? Helped real Madrid move closer to the title and is playing well, but should we not be giving the younger players a run out? I'm surprised at the decision.

Forget giving younger players a chance. We need to get our act together and qualify. He is still the best right sided English midfielder in my opinion and we need him.

For me the question is a simple one. Is he better than waht England currently have.

The answer is yes, I think he is better than Downing. Trouble is they system we play in midfield with doesn't seem to suit anyone!

I agree it's not exactly a long term move for England given Becks effective retirement from the professional game next year, but if it helps us qualify then so be it.

Good move. you select the best of the fittest players for national squads, so beckham should easily make ours with the like of richardson/downing etc looking to get in

McClaren dropped a bollock by not putting him in the squad and he knows it.  Beckham was playing badly enough not to be automatically in the first eleven, but to not even pick him as a squad player was a reactionary move probably to try and make himself look like a no nonsense, tough decision making manager.  Instead he's come out looking a bit of a twat.

Anyone who thinks Beckham has been instrumental in getting Real to the top is living in cloud cuckoo-he's a bit part player and the hype surrounding him has once again been unbelievable-I'd rather see David Bentley in the side

I think it is great news! The minute I heard he had been dropped I thought it was a mistake and even now I can't see the reasoning. Anybody who says Beckham is worse than Downing/Richardson/Lennon needs their head checking. He should atleast be in the squad for every game he's fit for.

So many people going back on their opinions on this in the media it annoys me.

It's a backward move to a player who should have signed away any hopes of playing for England when he opted out to a mickey-mouse USA league, he was shit for us since 2003 and frankly he single-handedly cost us two tournaments- '98 and '04.

Get SWP or Aaron Lennon and COACH them, not go back to flogging a dead horse.
