I think it has to be pointed out these players have been offered new deals does not mean to say they will accept or the club will offer what they want...ala Mooney a few years ago

Jerel has already signed, and Williams has said he is about to sign.

I'd imagine the logic behind Ifil's deal is that Sturrock can see further improvement likely, giving a valuable asset in 18 months time and a chance to make a tidy sum, without the pressure (the Fallon situation) of being imminently out of contract.

It's really good news though !

Hopefully as you say there is some forward thinking there - it sounds like Sturrock has been given a free reign to do what he feels right without any interference.

I'm just glad we've finally got a manager that sees the sense in not offering 1 year contracts which mean that your players are never worth anything!

Just think what he could do with a nice pit of money....

Beeeaaassstttt.....happy days.

Shame about Curtis Weston....he obviously is opinionated, and Sturrock is an autocrat, so its one or the other.

Adie Williams.....can he get fit and play at L1,  could be invaluable if he can, and the same goes for Paul Evans.

Nothing yet on Vincent, Jack Smith, Pook etc.

I think he will give it a fair crack but not be a regular, see out his season then move backroom Reg.

Sturrock had glowing praise for the influence he had since his injury and I would not be surprised to see him take some form of role with the young'uns/stiffs

I'd like to see it, he's conducted himself very well  in his time at the club, but there are only so many backroom jobs and Sturrock has his team . We'll see.

What about Nicho?  Gone a bit quiet on him.

Difficult Reg, the OS stated that there were still some players that PS has told may not be in his plans but is reserving final judgement for a couple of weeks.

That aside Nicho has been well used in the run in and I think deserves his chance.

Vincent I think will be given the deal

Vincent
Smith
Pook
Roberts

are dead certs to get new contracts I would say.

I would be surprised if Nicho didn't get one. Similarly I'm sure Sturrock Jnr will get a deal.

You only have to look at who has been involved in the last 10 games of the season. With that in mind, I would be amazed if Big Bad Barry didn't sort out a permanent deal.

Peacock will sign an extension and hopefully Evans will prove his fitness.

Agree with the Ady Williams comments. The man is a class act.

As the man said - Happy days! Cool

We definitely need someone upfront with Bazza Corr to run onto his ace flick on's etc, Sturrock Jnr puts the effort in but he isn't going to score many in League One IMO.

A great start to a team there. We need to bolster the middle with a couple of decent players and get a pacey goalscorer in and we are laughing. Build from there then
