After being overlooked for a place on the re-arranged VIP legends thing, I'm now having a picnic on the grass out the back of the (old) Nationwide before the first home game next season. All invited and it's free. Spaces are limited though.
Ralphy's post was spot on. I did ask if anyone wanted me to arrange 2 tables if there was interest mate The missus said she'll come mate, so if we get enough interest for two tables put her name down. Put me down for a place - I may be the totally naive one but I believe the current board will be on their way by then so there will be no dilemma. If I'm wrong I'll turn up in my orange tie just like the VIP Accy day and enjoy the company of lots of bloody great Swindon fans I'd never had the priviledge of meeting before. The money isn't really the issue - so what if they get another tenner. I'd like to contribute to the Prospect, I'd like to pay respect to some of the players that first inspired me to go to the County Ground and watch the team and I'd like to show support to Phil King for bothering to set this game up in the first place. Finally, it may be trite but I can't have a pop at Al because of the sight of that blimp over the Town End and which made my bloody day Feel my post has been lobotomised from the thread it originally started in. |
